Vertical Expression Studio

As a child, I was a shy, self-conscious, bookworm, and I would have never been caught dancing! Around the age of 14 I began to secretly dance behind the locked door of my bedroom. What first started with just swaying back and forth to music soon turned into hours (and hours) of practice. After months of dancing in secret, I finally mustered up enough courage to ask my mom to enroll me in dance classes and have continued dancing ever since. Now, I share my love of dance by teaching others. My favorite part of teaching is that moment when my students first begin to realize they've gone from choppy steps to actually dancing. My only regret, and one I commonly hear from my students, is wishing I would have started dancing sooner.
